Villa Baciasole is a large, modern, 1950s architect-designed house in the centre of a stunning little bay in Catania, Sicily. It can also be divided into two holiday apartments.
To its left is the fishing pier at Acitrezza, (home of famous Italian novelist Giovanni Verga). On the right of the bay is the fishing pier at Acicastello, with its beautiful Norman Castle overhanging the black volcanic rocks and the blue waters of the ocean. With six bedrooms and four bathrooms, the villa is just 20 metres from the seashore and is reached via a peaceful pedestrianised lane. The villa has a number of spacious, panoramic terraces looking onto the sea, as well as a small garden. The windows of the house are double glazed, keeping the noise from outside the property to a minimum. There is private parking for up to three cars for the entire villa or one car for each apartment. Villa Baciasole covers 400sqm and is suitable for up to 12 people. It can also be divided into two separate and private apartments. The rooms are furnished in modern rattan and bamboo furnishing. The house is very bright, has a spacious double living room with magnificent sea views, television and stereo. There are four double bedrooms and two bedrooms fitted with bunk beds. There are two kitchens, modern and fully equipped. 100 metres from the house there are supervised private beaches suitable for children. The nearest sandy beaches are 6km away. There are public tennis courts 500 metres from the villa and the Il Picciolo golf club is about 20km away. 500 metres away youll find the towns best nightclub, many tropical plantes and palm trees. Nearby amenities include the rental of power boats, windsurfers, and yachts Each summer Taormina hosts the Festival dello Spettacolo, a colourful festival of summer concerts and drama, performed against the backdrop of the Roman amphitheatre and the fabled gardens of Naxos. Due to its strategic position Sicily has at various times been settled by the Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians, Romans, Normans, French and Spanish. The result is a rich artistic heritage of temples, mosaics, churches and palaces. Travel is easy via the uncrowded motorways. Come and enjoy the wonderful Sicilian food and hospitality. The villa also divides into two apartments. Baciasole A, on the south side, sleeps six. It has a master double bedroom, second double bedroom with queen size bed, and a third bedroom with bunk beds. There is a bathroom, shower room, kitchen, and living room with sweeping views, veranda, and broad furnished terrace with wonderful sea views. Baciasole B on the north side, also sleeps six. It has a master double bedroom, second double bedroom, and a third bedroom with bunk beds. There is a spacious bathroom, shower room, kitchen, and comfortable sitting room. The flat has a terrace shaded by a bougainvillea vine, with stunning views across the bay. From the villa you can while away the day watching the local fishermen going about their business, or if you are more actively inclined, the Port of Acitrezza has sailing schools and an interesting wharf area to explore. You can set out for the little islands across the bay, and there are plenty of guided boats tours for hire by day or night, most of them serving drinks and food on board. 50 metres from the property you will find the poolside restaurant, I Ciclopi (Cyclops), where you can lunch or just go for a drink. 100 metres away you will find others good restaurants like Da Verga (the owner was the beautiful girl in the Luchino Viscontis movie La Terra Trema). Or dine at Da Federico, L'isola Lachea, Al Capitano ... and many others where is possible to eat fresh fish every day. Many cafes and snack bars in Acitrezza and Acicastello offer local foods (arancine, scacciate, pizzas), ice cream and the famous Sicilian water ice. This is a delightful position on the beautiful Sicilian coast, between Acitrezza (300 metres) and Acicastello (500 metres). Strategically placed, it is only 10km from Catania, 15km from Acireale, 26 km from Taormina and Giardini di Naxos, and near many picturesque fishing villages and the many Baroque villages in the surrounding hills. It is between 40-60km from Siracusa, Noto, Piazza Armerina, and there are fascinating excursions to Mount Etna and the Aeolian Islands. |
