The property is located in northern Umbria, quite close to the border with Tuscany,
and lies 10 kilometres from Gubbio and 30 from Perugia.
The house is on two levels (it was fully restored in the 1980's) and sits amidst
100 hectares of fenced land where the owners raise deer (circa 40). This land
forms part of the family estate of 300 hectares.
Within the grounds there are 3 small ponds,one with fish, plenty of forests
with easy pathways, and two more building each roughly 1000 metres apart. One,
half restored, is an 11th century monastery, another is occasionally occupied
by the owners.
The estate overlooks the Chiascio river valley and is set amongst gentle rolling
hills; these are the valleys that St. Francis is said to have traveled whilst
trying to tame and befriend the Wolf of Gubbio.
The house that is now available for rent has two double bedrooms (the master
one with seating area and fireplace), one twin bedroom, and one single bedroom.
There are two bathrooms, one with Jacuzzi, a very large living area with open
air well equipped kitchen, fireplace, pizza oven, maxi-screen satellite TV and
Hi-Fi. There is also a library room that can, upon request, be converted into
and additional twin bedroom.
