Tuscany, Italy - Villa La Troscia bed and breakfast accommodation, Vinci
Villa La Troscia, Tuscany, is a Renaissance
structure which dates back to the 17th century. It is situated in the heart
of the Tuscan countryside between the small town of Vinci, and the nearby house
where Leonardo da Vinci was born.
Located on the hill of Anchiano, it overlooks the Lucchesia valley, the hills
of Cerreto Guidi, those of San Miniato and the mediaeval town of Vinci, linked
to Leonardo's birthplace by the green road.
The grounds of the villa are well cared for, rich in typical Mediterranean plants
and flowers, with ample garden furniture for guest use - a generous breakfast
is served here every day. There is a stunning swimming pool with Jacuzzi (7
x10 metres, hydro massage) surrounded by a sunbathing area, which has panoramic
views overlooking the peaceful town of Vinci. The area has many possibilities
for trekking and mountain biking.
Vinci is located in the heart of Tuscany, and is within easy reach of all the
major Tuscan art cities: Florence (40 minutes), Pisa (40 minutes), Lucca (45
minutes) and Siena (55 minutes). It is also 30 minutes drive from Pistoia and
Montecatini, and 55 minutes from Versilia and the sea. Situated on the crest
of a hill, surrounded by olive groves, the estate is composed of a manor house,
with two charming annexes which were previously a barn and hayloft. They have
now been beautifully and tastefully restored by the owners with much care taken
to retain the original features of rural Tuscan style, and it is here that the
bed and breakfast accommodation is offered - please note that there is a minimum
stay of three nights during high season.
