Tortori Italian holiday rental apartments in Tuscany. Vacation accommodation close to Florence.
In spite of its fabulously secluded
hilltop position, Tortori is anything but remote. Florence can be reached by
car in less than half an hour, and the fast roads to Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra
and Pisa are easily accessed too. The nearest village, Montagnana, is 3km away
and boasts an excellent trattoria (Il Focolare - closed in August), run by the
father of Tortori's manager and just a little further is the delightful trattoria
of Podere Torricella. For a wider selection of eating places, Montespertoli
is 7km from here. On your way, you will pass Montegufoni Castle, a near-perfect
copy of Florence's Palazzo Vecchio and one of the more curious landmarks in
Tuscan history.
The five apartments are named after grape varieties used in the production of
Chianti, and sleep from 2 up to 8 people. They are all independently heated
and have been restored with a view to them being usable all year round. All
apartments have television, a fully equipped kitchen (electric oven, fridge,
hobs and extractor fans), open fireplace and living room with sofa-bed. Each
apartment has a bathroom of a very high standard with either shower and/or bath.
The pool has shared use with the adjacent villa, and is 18m x 9m, 1.2-2.0m deep,
open beginning May- mid October.
